As The Snow Falls And The Kids Go Cuckoo

I have spent so much time reading blogs the last few days that I didn't realize I had not written anything myself! It has been a crazy few weeks around here! We all had the stomach flu from....it was rough. Now my husband has shingles (brought on by the stomach flu I am sure). We had a tire blow out, and ended up replacing all four, which was a lot of buckaroos, even at WalMart. Then we had to pay for a doctor and eye doctor visit since the shingles are on his eye. Thank heavens Uncle Sam came the same week to bail us out of that nightmare!! He also helped us say good-bye to plastic. Never doing that again!

I am ready for Spring! (As the snow comes down.) We had a couple of gorgeous days that made me go buy jelly beans and ceramic bunnies....then it was gone.

I removed some personal info on my blog after reading what Darcy thought on her post. I had honestly never thought of the whole privacy from the world of internet before....I didn't go crazy, but did make changes. Should I change my blog name?? It was originally Sam's Noggin until I started homeschooling....any thoughts would be great~

I am ready for school to end for the year. There are changes I will make for next year, better curriculum I hope to save up for next year....I was going to buy the math curriculum to use now, as we don't like what we have...stupid tires!

I have read so many times that the first year is the hardest. I feel like I know more of how they learn and I teach that I am so ready for next year! Our first year has been better than I thought it would though, and I am very grateful God called us to do this. I felt a little crazy for even of thinking we should do it....kind of like when I realized Rick was going to preaching school. "Me be the preachers wife in the fish bowl"??? "No Way"!!!! So here I am in the bowl and teaching my school of baby fish. God knows what He is doing.

  2. You've done so much this past year! I'm glad you have had a good homeschool year, and have learned from your ups and downs as to what will help you have an even better year next year!

The privacy thing is a tricky balance. I don't know the answers. I'd say it is best to avoid lots of specific information, such as last names and specific towns, etc. I don't use my last name and I also opted out of allowing my blog to be searched by Google. I think that helps.

If you decide to change your blog name, go with the Fish/fishbowl theme you mentioned in this post. That would be so cute! Something about A School of Fish or Life in the Fish Bowl? I'm sure you could think of something perfect!
