Swings Full of Blessings

I had a moment recently at the park - you may have them from time to time yourself.DSC_2292

I was looking over at these swings…when I realized that all of these blessings belong to me.

Don’t these swings look lonely without them?

Our house is full, the refrigerator always seems empty and mom never gets a break. But I know that one day these swings will be empty, and so will our home.

I enjoy the little things much more since we started homeschooling, and I know all of our hard work will be rewarded. I pray that I take every moment and cherish it each day.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Proverbs 22:6 (ESV)

  1. I've recently been tucking the idea of homeschooling into my mind and heart for the future when my husband and I hopefully have children. You expressed beautifully the reasons I want to consider it - more time with my [future] children and to enjoy all the little things.

  3. Beautifully expressed. They can be exasperating sometimes, but mostly my children are a tremendous blessing. I can't imagine how quiet and lonely our home will be when they're grown and gone.

  4. That first one is such a great picture. It says so much in that one instant!

Yes, they look so sad without your kids in them. Treasure the time with each little soul that God has entrusted to you. What a gift they are, each and every one.

  5. Very wise words and awesome photos! Spoken as one of many granny nannies who homeschooled her kids for many years. You are so right. The time flies til they're all grown.

Then again, in many cases, that's when the blessing of grandkids starts and that swingset just might fill up again and you'll be able to start planting those awesome and eternal seeds of God's love and inspiring Bible verses in the next generation! :)

  12. Those swings do look really sad with the kids. I love the contrast between those shots. I'll remember it when my kids are driving me crazy this summer!

  14. Beautiful post! Life does get crazy and there are many times when I want to run away screaming! But, like you stated, this is only a season of my life that is passing by too quickly and once it's gone I will be unable to get any of it back!
God Bless...looking forward to B90 Days with you! :)
