The latest review for The Old Schoolhouse’s Download N Go series is Terrific Tigers. I am always impressed with each new title in this series! We have been very busy around here (which I will get into in a second), and have not been able to finish this study. So, I thought I would take a different direction. I want to tell you what I enjoy about these titles as a whole, starting with a little info on Terrific Tigers itself.
What you will find in DNG Terrific Tigers:
Day 1: What Is a Tiger?
Day 2: Getting to Know Tigers
Day 3: Where Are the Tigers?
Day 4: The Science of Tigers
Day 5: Cool Things About Tigers
What you can find in every title:
“Daily Objectives”, where you can see at a glance what each day entails. “Book Suggestions”, which has helpful links directly to Amazon.com (if you feel like purchasing), and ISBN numbers for quick reference. AND at the beginning of every title is an “Introduction to Lapbooking”, which gives several links to learn more about this method. I knew nothing about lapbooking before my first DNG purchase, and would never have used this crucial part of the study without those helps.
As usual, you can find hands on activities, and questions for review. One of the videos for the first day was a favorite for my kids. It was very sweet, and humorous. There are beautiful pictures, pages to color and a section at the end with ideas for family fun.
I cannot tell you how much your children will absorb from this style of educating. I have had to take stock and see why Unit Studies work so well, while others fail to hold the kids attention, both long and short term. Since joining this review team I have made some major adjustments in how we homeschool, and what curriculum we learn with. We have moved from a “classroom” in the home, to a love of learning in the home. We are using living books and a Charlotte Mason approach that I honestly didn’t see coming. I can see the kids’ gears turning, and they are really enjoying the changes. Unfortunately, these changes kept us from being able to fit in this particular study, but we will be coming back to it!
We were just at the carwash today and while they watched they said, “Hey, this car wash is a ROBOT!” I am very blessed to be able to share all of these experiences with my children. Very blessed.
