I did a review of Rocking Robots in September, based on what the lessons had to offer, before doing them. At that time, the product was not finished, but I could tell we really would enjoy it! You can go back and read my original review here.
We REALLY enjoyed this study! In Rocking Robots you’ll find~
Day 1: What Is a Robot?
Day 3: People and Places of Robots
Day 4: Science Secrets of Robots
Day 5: Goodies and Gadgets of Robots
We learned more about robots than I could have imagined, and everyday the kids fought over the closest spot to the laptop! The videos were very engaging, we replayed several of them, and even saved the page on the computer to show them to dad later in the day!
We were unable to get the suggested library books for this study, but we were able to do the lapbook. In our school we do a group lapbook, instead of individual. Less paper, ink and time!
We use a combination of a tabbed folder for the book portions, and a file folder for the actual lapbooking.
*As a side note, our 2 1/2 year old, Leah, just came over and saw me writing this. She could only see the notebook portion in the picture above , and said “I want to watch robots!!”. I believe that is a testimonial right there!
We also celebrated the end of the study with a robot cake, using a video tutorial that was included in the study.
They could hardly wait to finish!
Not swiping icing (homemade of course)!
“Surge 5000”
We took a week and just dug into this study. If you have wondered about Download N Go before, why not jump in with this one? You can learn more and order here. You can also read other reviews here, and check out all that the Schoolhouse Store has to offer here.
Thank you again Amanda Bennett and TOS for a wonderful week of learning!!
*I have been provided with a free copy of this study, in exchange for my honest review.*
My kids would LOVE that robot cake! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteI am truly blessed to have found your blog! If you stop by my blog today, I have an award for you! http://bookoandyarn.blogspot.com

Nice review! We enjoyed making our robot cake too. I couldn't find some of the candy so we made a couple of substitutions. I think we are going to print a lot less for our next unit too. I'm looking forward to reading all of the reviews. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that cake!! Maybe I'll have to have my young'uns work on one today!! ;-)
