This post is going to feature our brand new scheduling system. I make them, I fight them, chaos reigns without them. I MUST stick to one.
Printed schedules don’t work, I always realize that I missed something, or that something needs moved…you know, life happens. I invest in them so much that I don’t go back and make an update, or I forgot to save the file, and don’t want to start from scratch again. So the schedule is forgotten.
I had a moment of genius and came up with this bad boy. {I use genius loosely, mind you.}
Here we have the $1.00 thingy from a Target at back to school time from last year, that I briefly used, and some little blank flash cards that my BFF {a 1st grade teacher} gave me. {That comes to $1.00 if you’re counting.}
We are extremely visual at the Kelley ranch, and I thought this idea would be great for two reasons.
- It is easily changed.
- When we complete an item, we simply turn the card around. Instant visual progress!
Didn’t I tell you it was genius?
Even better-I had two of the dollar thingamabobs {which is apparently a real word as spell check never screamed at me} and so I made one for our school day as well.
I used orange cards to go with our orange and green theme in the room.
As you can see from the pictures, I shied away from the words “Schedule”, “Chore Chart” specific times, or any such evils.
Total time- 15 minutes.
Total cost- $2.00 a year ago, which feels free.
Frugal don’t you think?
I can’t wait to see a day in your life!
