Things I Learned At The Zoo

I am amazed at people who are talented. These swans were throughout the whole zoo, and I hear they are in town as well.

Swans of Hattiesburg

If I tried to paint a swan the result would be less than graceful.

I think this is my favorite.

I mentioned learning something at the zoo, yes?

Prairie Dogs are cute!

Zoos are really hot in August, and kids will find a way to cool off.

This new baby had free reign of the zoo. (We saw them walking everywhere.)

Alligators get hot too. He was barely breathing, let alone moving.

My kids aren’t nearly as afraid of snakes as I am…

I don’t fear snakes as much when they are curled in a ball with their head hidden, but when the head comes out, well, it’s a snake.

Rick suggested demanded I touch the snake. I think I touched it with one finger for a nano second. I may have blocked it out.

The kids and Rick however, pet it like a cat. IT’S A SNAKE!

This leopard did not come when I called “Here kitty, kitty”. He did however, rub the fence, hike his tail, and spray us. Who gets assaulted at the zoo? I do. :/

Oh. For that matter, no animal at the zoo responds to “Here kitty, kitty.” Just a heads up.

  4. Those swans are awesome. In our town they have painted bears all around to go on a "bear" hunt and find. We did them last summer and I'll be doing a post on them in the future. I'm with you on the snakes better left untouched! But oh the things we do for the love of our children. :-) Have agreat weekend.
    Blessings,
    Jill
