Guidecraft Hideaway Country Kitchen

I was so excited to have the opportunity to review this kitchen. With six kids there is always room for new life-skill toys. This Hideaway Country Kitchen from Guidecraft is wonderful! Want to know why?
 
Design
I love the country design with bead board and wooden-like countertops. The kitchen has a white sink, {very country}, a clock {with movable hands}, potholder hooks, clicking knobs for the stove and dishwasher, {the kids love that they feel like it really works} and a lovely scalloped top. The neutral colors offer multi-gendered fun. {There is also a multi-color version of this same style.}

 
Size
Everything you would want in a kitchen for smaller tots, but not overwhelming for the recommended age, which is 3 and up. The sides are open so lots of kids can gather around, which is really good for us.
Sturdy
Umm…did you know some kids cook while standing on their kitchen? This kitchen is made very well, and has stood up to some pretty odd uses. {I do not recommend this use, just saying the kitchen survived it.}
Easy Storage
It folds down easily to 6 inches thick for under the bed storage! Perhaps you are lacking space, or you are a grandparent who wants to have toys around for the grandkids, but you don’t want a kitchen set up at all times. You simply unlock the countertop area with the included allen wrench, fold it up, and fold in the sides.

Price

For the quality, design, and storage Guidecraft provides with this kitchen, the $200 price point is very good.

What I didn’t like.
The directions were not very clear, and there were barely any written directions. There were several times during the building process that three intelligent adults couldn’t figure them out, ending up winging it, only to realize we needed to try a different way. It took 3 hours. I was ready to throw it over the deck at one point.
To sum it all up-
This Guidecraft Hideaway Country Kitchen has all of the basics your child would want in a kitchen, all wrapped up in a sweet little design that offers the added feature of storage. The kitchen is very well made, and sturdy enough for years of use. The kitchen is a pain to put together, and even though the end result is worth it, but I would not want to put it together again. I hope Guidecraft can work on better instructions for the future.
