Any good homeschooler incorporates map work into their classroom setting. This homeschooler tries really hard to keep up with those kinds of things, but I have one problem. I stink at it.
In our various curricula there have been maps involved in our day to day study, and I usually have to wait for my husband. Not with WonderMaps!
With WonderMaps you will find a set of over 350 highly customizable maps. There are different levels of each map, which can give you as much information on the region, or as little as you need.
WonderMaps has much more than just regional maps however. There is a section for the Bright Ideas Press curriculum, as well as-
The World, The United States, Historical Maps {divided by the four major time periods}, and Thematic Maps {like American History}.
The customization starts with what you see or print with each map-
For example, to teach a lesson on Erik the Red, I would choose to leave the routes and labels, and then I may print off a map without those features for a quiz.
You can choose if your maps are color or black- and-white, if you want to include outline, reference, political, or topographical information, and different map features, such as borders, rivers, and cities.
WonderMaps is really wonderful, it really is, and will work with any curriculum, or for non-homeschoolers. It would also be perfect for a History buff, or your personal Bible study.
I no longer have an excuse for not being prepared for map time during our day. This map-impaired mom has found what she wished she had all along this homeschool journey, map help!
WonderMaps is from Bright Ideas Press, which is a company trusted by homeschoolers. WonderMaps can be purchased for $44.95 at Timberdoodle, where you will also find other geography goodies. If you have never been introduced to Timberdoodle, I hope you will hop on over and request your free catalog, which is full of reviews by real moms.
