I feel a little guilty about two great gifts this Christmas-we really did pare down the gifts. We didn’t overdo it-the kids had just enough.
Our Christmas dessert was even scaled back-
I made some boxed chocolate pudding and added whipped cream and mini M&Ms. It was quick, it was simple, and it was good.
On to the guilt--
My sweet husband gave me the Kindle Touch-I thought I wanted a Fire, but I really wanted something to look at that didn’t have a flashing screen. It was also 1/2 price of the Fire.
I am really happy with it-I have been reading a lot more since I opened it. You know-book reading- not just blog posts. {cough}
On to the bigger guilt--
We were also extremely blessed with Christmas gifts in the form of money, from several people. This has happened the last few years, and we always try to buy a few nice group gifts.

!!!!!!!!
I know for some people, this isn’t a big deal. For us, it is a HUGE deal! This isn’t “mine”, but a gift for our whole family. It still seems as if this item doesn’t belong in our house.
But it sure is nice!
So far, the kids have spent a whole lot of time playing “President’s vs. Aliens”. I have banned games until the weather warms up, but I will make an exception if they are learning!
The biggest gift of all was our pace-reading Jotham’s Journey and just spending time in the same room together. We opened gifts on Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve to keep our focus on worship on Sunday. It has been a wonderful Christmas.
Slow, and wonderful.
