Mission Statement–HOMEmaker’s Challenge

This week went in a bit of a different direction. We were challenged to make a homemaking mission statement. I was scared. I wanted a purging challenge again, I am really good with those!

Christin left us with some things to consider while pondering our mission:

Your purpose should answer the following questions:

  • Is your purpose to be inviting, functional, peaceful, a haven….all of the above? {To be a place where love grows and God shines through.}
  • What is the most pressing, [homemaking] need for your family at this time? {Laundry}
  • What is your home’s most important function? Is it being met? {A place for Faith and Family} {Yes}

Going a bit deeper:

  • What gets in the way of reaching your purpose as a homemaker? {Time on the computer. How silly does that sound?}
  • What tools do you need to better manage your home? {To more strictly follow my schedule for computer time.}
  • What encourages and motivates you to move forward? {Family time, unplugged.}

Homemakers challenge 2

My Homemaker’s Mission Statement:

I will follow our family mission statement of God 1st, Others 2nd, Self last. I will be faithful to always provide a place where the love of God is obvious and  our family will always remember as full of faith and love.

I will be a dedicated Bible student, both for myself and for my children’s example.

I will strive to make a peaceful and organized home that we are always at peace to be in.

I will be more diligent about my time on the computer, and spend more time on my relationships with God and family.
