February was a good month for my goals. I was only 100% on water a few times, but it has me drinking more. I am taking my vitamins in the morning with my oatmeal, I simplified the living room and kitchen, and made my “mom cave.” I completed my household binder.
For this month, I would like to work on:
1. Stay on schedule.
I have a very detailed schedule I made for HOMEmaker’s Challenge, and I need to make sure I stick to it, or make changes and stick to it as needed. You can see the schedule in this post.
2. Continue Simplifying.
My goal is to finishing purging the downstairs areas for March. I need to do the Master Bedroom, closet and bath. Also our laundry room, hall closet and our closet. I do the closets pretty regularly, so it shouldn’t be that bad.
3. Plan Memory Verses.
We are back to something we started a few years back- using dinner time to memorize Bible verses. The system works quite well actually, and we aren’t making any changes to it now. I just want to get this month of verses scheduled so they won’t creep up on me.
Our system:
Each week we take the chosen verse, this week we are working on Isaiah 55:9-
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
We break up the verse onto 8 cards, and give one to every person. Each person takes a turn reading what is on their card, in order. We then read aloud the whole verse, with each card being held up at the appropriate time. We do this a few times, and then pass in the cards. Then we issue a challenge to see if anyone wants to give recitation from memory a try. By then end of the week, everyone knows it, even the little ones. We also do reviews of past verses to keep them fresh in our minds.
I can’t wait to see everyone else’s!
P.S.- I want to send a BIG shout out to my really super-wonderfully-talented designer Liz! I asked her to give me a makeover, and I just adore what she did! The best part? It was painless! I told her the colors I like, and that I love owls. My other request was playful, I think she did an excellent job!
