The Purge

I am an organized person. I don’t have any trouble getting rid of stuff or taking things to charity. I am in the process of simplifying however, and am stepping up the game a little.

I have mentioned the book that I am reading, Organized Simplicity several times. It is the vehicle that has me moving in hyper-drive.  Organized-Simplicity-cover-226x300I am on day two of ten to have a more simplified home.

Day one consisted of a quick purge of every room in the house. It took us a little over an hour, and we came away with some yard sale stuff and three bags of trash. (I also emptied trash cans as we went.)

I was supposed to do the living room yesterday and today, you are allowed two days to complete it. I HAD to get groceries, and couldn’t do it yesterday, but am going to be able to do this room in one day, as I had already purged most of this room in January. I am going to concentrate on the drawers in the end table, and my desk. I will also be deep cleaning the room. I just did that last month as well.

The living room is clean overall, so I will reserve the before and after pictures to the drawers and desk. I will update my progress, with photos, when I get done.

  5. I need to purge my entire house. Seriously. We've been here almost 8 yrs and I worked 6 of those yrs. I'm wanting us to sell our house and downsize. I know this would require MAJOR decluttering, but I so want to do it!

    Thanks for the inspiration!
