I always read to the end of the current chapter with B90Days, and my first SOAP comes from the last verse of today’s reading.
Scripture~ “Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.” Genesis 40:23
Observation~ The cupbearer did not do as he had been asked. I can just see him reassuring Joseph that he would remember what he had done for him.
Application~ I should remember those who do things for me, and keep promises that I make to others.
Prayer~ Lord, help me to always be a grateful Christian, one who remembers others, and one who gives more than I take.
One of the verses that makes your heart sink every time you read it. Your observation, application and prayer are wonderful. ~S.
ReplyDeleteI read to the end of the chapter yesterday, too, and that verse also struck a chord with me. I find it very interesting how Joseph had such a great impact on his life, yet he "forgot" him. It makes me wonder if he forgot Joseph ON PURPOSE. (The writer in me goes wild sometimes. LOL!)
