Scripture~ “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
Observation~ Strength and courage were a command.
Application~ Should I not also take this command to heart? How many times am I frightened and dismayed?
So often I am disappointed and fearful. I fear man, other people’s sins, my own sin. I fear quite a bit, and I will spare you the list.
I need to keep this playing in my head daily : “The LORD my God is with me wherever I go”.
Prayer~ Lord, please protect me from my own fears and discouragement, help me to lean on You always, and trust that you are with me always.
I love when an angel appears in Bible stories the first things they say is "Be Not Afraid!". I repeat that phrase over and over when I'm fearful and it helps calm and relax me. I also like to envision God holding me (or whoever I'm concerned about) in His hands!
