George Washington

 

We just wrapped up a unit study about George Washington from Download N Go. It was a very interesting week! I keep saying I don’t know how Amanda and her team keep doing it. I really mean it!

I knew I wanted to review this unit for the education part, but I kind of wondered about the fun. Could learning about George Washington really be fun??

I have never been disappointed with a study so far, so I jumped in. I was pleasantly surprised!

I always had a favorable opinion of George Washington, but I now have a new respect for him. He was a true patriot, a good and humble man. If I learned this much about our first President while in public school myself, I have no recollection of it. I love learning with my children!

You will find all your subjects covered in this study, and lots of things to peruse on the internet together, including interactive tours. We spent a whole hour just going through one tour on Day 2! It was fascinating, and now our entire family wants to make this location a future family vacation.

There is an extensive book list, for continued learning, lots of pages for lapbooking, and ideas for family fun. I really appreciate having things I am normally bad about incorporating into school, like baking and art, in the lessons. The best part is you have everything you need researched for you. You can trust that Amanda and her team have scoured the internet for the best of the best for your children. We have more fun with unit studies than any other week of school!
