Where Is Your Treasure?

Blogging Through The Gospels, Matthew 6

Honestly, this whole chapter can be a SOAP. It is filled with our Savior’s teaching, and we should read it often and apply it.

Scripture:

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21

Observation:

I think this verse says it all. What is most important in our lives will be easily seen. It is where we spend the most of our time and energy.

Application: Where is my treasure? Jesus says in verses 19 and 20 to lay up our treasures in heaven, not on earth, but how do we do that?

We make provisions for eternity. We share it with others. We spend our time learning about what the Lord wants us to know while we are here in preparation for Heaven.

If we are Christians, our faith should be very evident to those around us. Not so that we may boast, but so that we can share it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you so much for your Word. Thank you for making your Will so accessible. I pray I will always be in your Word, learning more and more everyday, not only for myself, but so that I may be filled enough to share with all of those around me. Help me to walk each day better than the day before. Amen.
